Westclox 'Big Ben' Repeater in Electric Blue – Scotland, circa 1960s/70s

Westclox 'Big Ben' Repeater in Electric Blue – Scotland, circa 1960s/70s

A striking intersection of industrial utility and Space Age optimism. This Big Ben Repeater features a rare, saturated blue sunburst dial that catches the light in radial "cathedrals," shifting from deep navy to bright azure. The pedestal "tulip" base is finished in lustrous chrome, providing a sleek, vertical silhouette that epitomizes the Mid-Century Modern bedroom aesthetic.

Produced in the historic Westclox Scotland plant, the "Big Ben" is a titan of 20th-century design. The "Repeater" mechanism was a luxury feature of its time, designed to wake the sleeper gently through intermittent chiming. This blue variant is a departure from the conservative monochrome of earlier eras, marking the bold shift in interior palettes of the late 1960s.

This is a "pop" piece. Place it on a teak bedside table or a monochromatic desk setup to allow the electric blue dial to serve as a primary focal point.

The chrome remains bright with minimal pitting. The mechanical movement has been tested and retains its rhythmic, nostalgic tick. The blue dial is exceptionally preserved with no fading.

Material: Chrome-plated Steel & Acrylic
