Make a statement in your home with this stunningly beautiful lacquered Chinese Wedding Cabinet. The wood inside & out is naturally aged; structurally sound with shelving measuring (top) height 66cm (bottom) height 34cm and depth 52cm. There is also useful drawer space. There is also a secret compartment in the bottom shelf. All the joins are pegged - there are no screws on this piece at all. The decorated lacquer depicts Chinese characters, different plants and villagers/fisher men. A real conversation piece!

Cabinets like these were given as wedding presents. They were often filled with cloths and fabrics and left in the newlyweds’ bedroom.

The unit has wooden hinges to the doors that open onto internal shelves and four drawers along the middle.

Please be aware that this is a unique hand crafted piece of furniture over 100 years of age and therefore some distressing will obviously be present.

This is a VERY heavy piece of furniture and will need at least three people to move it. Our courier is a one-man-band so please arrange for suitable help at the other end.
